Thank you for taking the time to read a little more about me. I commend you for taking this courageous first step in your journey of self discovery, healing, and growth. If you feel I would be a good fit, it would be my honour to accompany you. I welcome you to reach out to ask any questions you might have.
Larissa holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Trinity Western University and a PhD from the University of New South Wales in Australia. She is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors [License #19264]. Larissa has a down-to-earth approach where you can feel comfortable to freely express yourself without judgement. She enjoys working with children and adults across various presentations, including grief, bereavement, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relational difficulties, and perinatal mental health, including pregnancy and infant loss. While Larissa has training as a generalist, she has advanced skills and training in the areas of trauma, grief and loss, marriage and relationship therapy, perinatal mental health, and early years development.
I use a trauma sensitive approach including attachment work and depth-oriented psychotherapy. Specific modalities that I incorporate in my work include Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), various trauma and body-based therapies, Lifespan Integration, narrative therapy, and meaning and insight based therapies. However, I tailor my approach based on the specific goals and strengths of the client, so that each person experiences therapy that is a good fit for them. All the therapy I do is evidence-based and is designed to be empowering, with a focus on de-pathologizing the person.
